Fall Inspiration

This is probably the simplest decorating trick! Popcorn kernals, red beans, and lentils make up this adorable fall decor. Any glass jar will work and an autumn colored candle (we prefer the ones that smell like you have been baking for hours!).

We have a lot of customers who come in looking for mantles to create the "look" of a fireplace. Mantles usually fly out the door, so we have another option! Try using a buffet or sideboard as a "mantle" piece to change out with holiday decor. This black one we have here (sorry for the picture!) is only $129 and the picture below from a great design blog it is just a little inspiration to decorate for fall.

What child wouldn't think this was so cool in their home? Or adult for that matter! This little number from Thrifty Decor Chick would be a great project to do with your children.

Ofcourse, there will be items marked down and specials just for this 2 hour event!

Laundry Day

Here is a little something to look forward to on your next cleaning day. A few weeks ago we got in this new line of products from The Good Home Co. We have been using the lavender counter spray constantly. See the containers with little beads in them..Vacuum Balls! The beautiful glass bottle (which could totally be cleaned out and used again, just nothing edible) is laundry fragrance, use it just like you would fabric softner for a delightful scent. Seen here is Beach Days and Lavender.

All of these would make sweet gifts for the holidays...get creative! Buy your daughter in law a sweater and the lavender laundry fragrance or maybe your mother has been wanting a new vacuum, add some vacuum balls in too!

Is it 5 o'clock??

Not the greatest picture, but this little gem, which came in yesterday ($160!!), would look amazing in a stylish living room or den. Initally it may look a little too bachelor pad for some women, but with a few feminine accents, maybe even a coat of paint, it could fit any home. So to get you in the mood to set up your own mini bar area here a a few pictures floating around Pinterest. Side Note: Everyone should check out pinterest, its Amazing.

Splurge: Pottery Barn Bar..loving the dark wood!

Budget:Find a tea cart or even just a basic rolling cart, use gold spray paint to make it the gorgeous color above, or silver would be cute too! Use a mirror or tray like the one above to give it a little style or even better, find a mirrored tray (like below, just bigger!). Photo: theglitterguide

Here we go...

Hello everyone, we have decided to join the blogging world! The site isn't complete, still working out a few kinks, but we wanted to get it up and running with some new things happening! We want to use this space as a way to show daily happenings at the shop like...before and afters, new merchandise, decorating tips and ideas, and events at the shop. Maybe a few of our favorite websites, recipes and shops thrown in there. So to begin with we have a decorating tip...

Lately, we have been loving some painted furniture at the shop. Sometimes a pop of color is the easiest and least expensive way to transform a room. Check out some of these colorful pieces for some inspiration

Ok, so this one isn't a piece of furniture, but this yellow lamp could add so much to a white room.

Wouldn't this table look amazing in a small kitchen with two mismatched chairs. Nate Berkus said recently on the Today show that shades of green are "hot" colors going into fall, because they transition easily from summer.

Here is a little green again, perfect for a little girls bedside table or in a colorful sun room.
